AquaIllumination Nero Series Wave Pump

The AquaIllumination Nero Series is a premium range of compact, controllable wave pumps designed to provide powerful, natural water movement in marine, reef and freshwater aquariums.

With their slim in-tank profile and wide-flow design, Nero pumps help improve circulation, reduce dead spots, keep detritus suspended, and provide corals with the varied flow they need for better health and growth. Despite their compact size, the Nero range delivers impressive flow output, making them suitable for everything from nano reef systems to larger, high-flow aquariums.

The Nero pumps are controlled through the Mobius app via Bluetooth LE, allowing you to adjust flow strength, create schedules and select different flow patterns directly from your mobile device. No Wi-Fi connection is required for normal setup and control, making installation simple, convenient and reliable.

Available flow modes include constant speed, pulse and random flow, allowing you to customise water movement depending on your livestock, aquascape and coral requirements.

The AI Nero 3 provides up to approximately 7,570 L/H of flow and is best suited for smaller aquariums, nano reefs and compact marine systems, generally around 40–75 cm in length. It is ideal for soft corals, LPS systems and smaller reef tanks requiring strong but controllable circulation.

The AI Nero 5 provides up to approximately 11,356 L/H of flow and is best suited for medium-sized aquariums, generally around 75–120 cm in length. It is a strong option for mixed reef tanks, larger LPS systems and aquariums requiring wider, more powerful water movement.

The AI Nero 7 provides up to approximately 15,142 L/H of flow and is best suited for larger aquariums, generally around 120–180 cm+ in length. It is ideal for larger reef displays, SPS systems and tanks requiring high-flow, broad circulation.

Key features include Bluetooth app control, compact in-tank design, powerful wide flow, adjustable output, multiple flow modes, magnetic mounting, quiet operation and energy-efficient performance.

For best results, avoid pointing the pump directly at sensitive corals. Larger aquariums, SPS-heavy systems or tanks with heavy rockwork may benefit from using two pumps on opposite sides to create more balanced and natural circulation throughout the aquarium.

The AI Nero 5 Anemone Guard is also available separately and is designed to provide additional protection for anemones, small fish and invertebrates by reducing the risk of livestock coming into direct contact with the pump intake.
